Liposuction

For certain problems, such as excess submental fat (under the chin), facial liposuction, or lipoplasty, is a great option for patients. This can be done at the same time as your NYC facelift or as a separate procedure when indicated. Liposuction techniques are also effective for sharpening the jawline and reduction of joweling. This is useful for patients who are not ready for a facelift but want contour corrections along the jawline. The healing time after liposuction is also significantly less than with a facelift and there are no significant skin incisions. A weak chin and prominent fat deposits in the neck and jowls can detract from the overall facial balance and harmony.

Dr. Westreich performs liposuction to remove unwanted fat from these areas, with or without the placement of a chin implant, for improved contour. This procedure is often combined with rhinoplasty and blepharoplasty. Lipoplasty can produce a dramatically more attractive profile and a more youthful facial shape.

Fat Grafting

Volume loss is a significant part of the aging process. This is especially true in the midface and lower eyelid region. Fat grafting is a two-stage technique for replacing this lost volume using a patient’s own tissues. The fat is typically harvested from the lower body (abdomen, thighs, or buttocks and then processed for implantation into specific areas of the face. Besides using your own natural tissue, this procedure is done under local anesthesia, which is what also makes it different from commercial filler products, such as Restylane or Juvederm. Fat grafting, also known as fat transfer, can also provide permanent contour corrections.

Although some fat will survive permanently, you may require a touch-up years later in order to maintain a lasting result. Fat grafting is often done at the same time as facial liposuction or eyelid surgery.

Facial Implants

Dr. Westreich specializes in placing facial implants, such as chin and cheek implants. The purpose of these implants is to restore volume and provide support for the soft tissues of the skin, ensuring longer lasting results. The choice of implant and the specific indications for their use will be discussed with Dr. Westreich during a full cosmetic consultation.

Cheek Enhancement

If your cheek area has become flattened over time, it can make your face appear drawn and give the appearance of advanced aging. Prominent, full cheeks offer a more youthful, healthy appearance.

Dr. Westreich approaches the cheek or malar area by using fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm, your own fat, as well as other implant materials when additional contour and support may be needed.

Chin Augmentation

As balance to the face is a central component of cosmetic surgery, changes to your profile may aid in enhancing your overall result. Chin augmentation may be achieved by either implantation or direct bone remodeling. Although sometimes performed as a single procedure, chin augmentation is often performed along with rhinoplasty, facelift, or submental liposuction procedures. Implantation is performed through either the mouth or a small external incision hidden below your chin. Implants are usually made out of silastic, an inert substance that is well tolerated by the body.

Genioplasty

Bone remodeling (also called a sliding genioplasty) is a more extensive procedure than implantation. It can be helpful for selected individuals who have significantly smaller chins or poor lower lip competence. Sliding genioplasty is always done using incisions within the mouth and requires a longer healing period than implantation. Chin reduction, if needed, can be accomplished in a similar manner but is typically done with incisions below the chin.

FaceTite

FaceTite is a revolutionary, minimally invasive procedure that targets facial aging concerns, including sagging skin, jowls, and excess fat. Using advanced radiofrequency (RF) technology, FaceTite tightens the skin and remodels facial contours without the need for incisions, extensive surgery or downtime. This procedure is ideal for individuals looking to rejuvenate their appearance with natural-looking results. Combining FaceTite with liposuction offers a synergistic approach to facial contouring. Here's how these procedures complement each other:

Skin Tightening

FaceTite targets loose skin by delivering controlled RF energy to the deep layers of the skin, stimulating collagen production and promoting tissue tightening. This results in smoother, firmer skin texture.

Fat Reduction

Liposuction removes excess fat deposits from specific areas such as the chin, jowls, and neck, refining facial contours and enhancing facial symmetry. The precision of liposuction allows for customized fat removal, ensuring a harmonious balance between facial features.

Customized Treatment

Every individual has unique facial concerns. By combining FaceTite and liposuction, cosmetic surgeons can tailor the treatment to address each patient's specific needs, whether it's eliminating double chin, defining the jawline, or enhancing facial proportions.
