Full Case Details:
Mrs. R. had nearly 100% blockage of her left nasal airway due to a deviated septum. Preoperative and postoperative intranasal views are shown below. She was also concerned with external deviation, a profile bump, and the appearance of her tip. Advanced techniques including asymmetric suture tip-plasty correction, spreader grafts, alar rim grafts, PDS plate grafting, and suture remodeling of her dorsal septal plate were done. While these techniques are traditionally done using an open approach, Dr. Westreich performed all of this with a closed or endonasal approach, leaving no external incision. A 2 month result is shown here, demonstrating that, even when swelling is present, significant improvements in appearance can be seen. If an open approach had been used, there would likely be more robust nasal tip swelling at this early stage of healing.
