Full Case Details:
A direct neck lift can be an excellent choice for males who are seeking reduction of the excess hanging skin. Many older men complain that irritation from collared shirts and ties is a big issue for them. A direct Neck lift is done with incisions in the middle of the neck. Excess skin is removed and the platysma muscles can be brought together as well, helping to further reduce the appearance of hanging cords of muscle. As opposed to a Facelift, where the incisions and skin removal are performed around the ear, a direct neck lift avoids that area completely and all surgery is done centrally on the neck. There is no facial swelling in a Direct neck lift. Because incisions do not always heal completely smooth, we do not recommend direct neck lifts for women. The hair follicles from a man's beard are extremely helpful in camouflaging the incision and, as such, this procedure is normally reserved for male patients.
